Dr. Fathima Jerosha Ifthikar Ahmed is an Assistant Professor of Green Chemical Processes and Process Intensification at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) and the Nottingham Ningbo China Beacons of Excellence Research and Innovation Institute (hereinafter referred to as “the China Beacons Institute”), where she is an integral part of UNNC’s research capability. Her research focuses on innovative solutions for wastewater treatment, solid waste utilization, and resource recovery from municipal solid waste.
Before joining UNNC, Dr. Jerosha was a PhD student, a postdoctoral researcher and later an Associate Professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) in China. During her time at HUST, she served as Principal Investigator on two major national research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST). Her exceptional contributions earned her three prestigious awards: the HUST Academic Excellence Award (2016/2017), the “Honorary International Graduate” Certificate (2018), and the Outstanding Postdoctoral Award (2023). She also won the Outstanding Abstract Award at the 2nd International Symposium on Biomass/Wastes Energy and Environment (BEE2019) in Tianjin, China.
Dr. Jerosha has authored 47 peer-reviewed papers in leading SCI Q1 journals, achieving an h-index of 31 and an i10-index of 41 (March 2026), and holds a Chinese invention patent. In 2024, she was recognized as a Ningbo Municipal High-level Talent. Most recently, in 2026, she was awarded as a Senior Green Design Engineer by the World Green Design Organization.
