Dr. Sarah Benziane is a Lecturer-Researcher at the Computer Science Department, University of Science and Technology of Oran (USTO-MB), Algeria. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science with specialization in Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence, and an Habilitation to Direct Research (HDR,2022).Her research interests include artificial intelligence, computer vision,biometrics,intelligent systems, industrial process control optimization, and sustainable AI applications, with a strong focus on leveraging AI for energy efficiency and green technology development.
Dr. Benziane has authored numerous journal articles, conference papers, and Scopus-indexed books (IGI Global) on neural networks, intelligent systems, and biometrics, and has served as editor and reviewer for international journals (Elsevier, IEEE). She is an active member of a national PNR research project dedicated to AI-driven industrial process optimization, reduction of energy self-consumption, and minimization of flared gases — directly contributing to green energy and sustainable development goals.
Her current research focuses on AI-driven sustainable systems, deep learning models for energy applications, and smart monitoring for renewable energy infrastructure. She serves as Conference President of the National Conference on Data Engineering and Artificial Intelligence Science (IDEAS) andhasdeliveredinvitedtalksacrossEuropeandNorthAfricaonAI,sustainableintelligentsystems,and explainable AI for green industry.
