Dr. Gowhar Ahmad Wani is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the School of Social Sciences and Humanities, B. S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology. Prior to this, he served as Head and Assistant Professor of Economics at Kuniya Group of Institutions and as Lecturer in Economics at Cluster University, Srinagar.
He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the School of Economics, Central University of Kerala, and holds both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Economics from the University of Kashmir, Jammu & Kashmir.
Dr. Wani has presented numerous research papers at national and international conferences and academic competitions. He also served as an Editorial Member of the Compendium of Abstracts and Proceedings for an international conference organized by the School of Economics, Central University of Kerala, funded by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
He has successfully completed multiple workshops and training programs on Research Methodology, Quantitative Techniques, and allied areas, and has actively participated in a wide range of seminars, webinars, and symposiums organized by universities, government institutions, and professional bodies. His research has been published in reputed national and international journals as well as edited volumes.
In recognition of his scholarly contributions, Dr. Wani has received fifteen awards from academic and research organizations for excellence in research and scholarship.
His research interests span across Sustainable Development, Sustainable Tourism, Environmental Sustainability, Sustainable Infrastructure and Technology, Service Quality Management, Sustainable Livelihoods, and Sustainable Finance. Within the field of Economics, he specializes in Microeconomics, Mathematical Economics, Statistics, Tourism Economics, and Research Methodology.
